Quick Patient

Patient information can be entered quickly and accurately using Quick Patient by scanning a provincial ID card and having all information related to patient creation on one window.

In BC, AB, MB and SK, the production of a provincial health card is mandatory to allow for data to be included in the provincial electronic health record.

In ON, the production of the health card for patients is voluntary because a health card is considered personal health information (PHI). This should only be required if absolutely necessary, such as if the patient will be provided provincially funded health resources, such as drug coverage through a provincial payor, a flu shot, a medication review or for provincial tracking of narcotic and controlled substances.
